Our Values

Our Story

Our relationship with the Léo CO-OP has started at the beginning of years 2000. Daniel Lapointe’s desire to bring support to poor people and to have an agriculture experience abroad motivated him to apply as an international volunteer along with the International Cooperation Study Center (CECI). During 8 months, Daniel worked to commercialise shea butter at the higher/better price possible.ible.

Importation and transformation in Bury
In 2002, in order to pursue its support and collaboration to the commauty of Léo, Daniel and his wife started to import, transform and distribute shea butter and finished products in Canada and to the USA.

Fair Trade Certification

Karité Delapointe officialy became the first TransFair Canada licencee licencee for Shea butter importation on October 7, 2007.
After Daniel passed away, Praxède Levesque Lapointe, took the lead of the company with the collaboration of her supporters.
